Life Story for Helen B. Santoro
Helen B. Santoro, of Newton, NJ, formerly of Brewster and North Salem, NY, died peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday May 6, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 93 years old.
Born on May 9, 1924 in Boston, MA, daughter of Nicholas and Mary (Ryan) Boland. She graduated from St. Catherine’s Academy in Manhattan, NY.
On July 23, 1949 she married the love of her life Louis Santoro. Louis predeceased his wife in 2014.
Mrs. Santoro was the vice president of Putnam County Savings Bank in Brewster, NY, working from 1967 until 1999 when she retired. She enjoyed reading and traveling. In her younger years she volunteered at her children’s school and at the local library.
Mrs. Santoro is survived by her loving children; Alan Santoro (Carola) of Cheshire, CT and Janet Laughlin (James Bell) of Wharton, NJ and her 4 grandchildren; Ryan, Kristina, Caitlin and Brian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 11, 2018 at St. Lawrence O’ Toole Church at 10 am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 10th from 4pm-8pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Helen can be made to Friends of Karen, 118 Titicus Road, North Salem, NY.
