Life Story for Donald E. Strang

Donald E. Strang, of Poughkeepsie, NY, died peacefully on Monday April 9, 2018. He was 69 years old.
Born on June 19, 1948 in Mt. Kisco, NY, son of the late Frank and Matilda (Bradsell) Strang. Donald attended Brewster High School and enlisted into the US Army in 1967. In March of 1967 Donald graduated from recondo school, attached 5th special forces, D troop 17th Cavalry, 199LIB, LRRP Unit, where he served in Vietnam. He honorably served until November 1967 when he was discharged.
Mr. Strang enjoyed antique cars and was a member of the Hudson Valley Hot Rods. He also participated in many motorcycle rides in Washington D.C. for veterans.
Donald is survived by his daughters; Melissa Strang-Fitzgibbon of Poughkeepsie, NY and Laurie Ocskasy of Pleasant Valley NY, his granddaughter Danielle Ocskasy and great granddaughter Mannon.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday April 14, 2018 at Milltown Rural Cemetery at 11 am. Friends and family may visit the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, on Friday from 5pm-9pm.
