Obituary for Johnny Keefe

Johnny Keefe a life-long Brewster New York resident died peacefully Monday June 26, 2017 at Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT, with his family at his side after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was 52.

He was born February 9, 1965 in Fort Knox, Kentucky son of Leokadia (Duvenage) Dunn of Brewster, NY and the late Eugene Keefe. He attended Brewster High School. In 1985 he began working at Brewster Transit Mix as a driver working there until he retired in 2013. On September 27, 1987 he married Annette DiVenuto at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster, NY. Johnny was a past member of the Brewster Fire Department and a member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster.

Besides his wife Annette and his mother Lee, Johnny is survived by his son Korey Keefe of Brewster, NY, daughter Kayla Keefe and her fiancé Brandon Morabito of Brewster, NY, sister’s Linda Benzi and her husband Jim of Hyland, NY and Christy Gehrisch and her husband Pat of Findlay, OH and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Billy and Robert Keefe.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday June 30, 2017, 10:00 am at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church. Interment will take place at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery in Brewster following the mass. Calling hours will take place on Thursday June 29, 2017 at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster, NY from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
