Life Story for Maurice L. Simon

Maurice L. Simon, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully at Westchester Medical Center on January 20, 2019. He was 92 years old.
Born on May 26, 1926 in Mt. Kisco, NY, son of the late Samuel and Bessie (Resnick) Simon. Maurice graduated from Horace Greeley High School before honorably serving in the US Army during WWII.
On December 12, 1957 Maurice married the love of his life Florence DeLaura. Following their wedding they moved to Brewster, NY to raise their family.
Maurice was the owner of Simon Auto in Brewster, NY for over 60 years. Never officially retiring, showing all how important his work was to him. His greatest passion in life was his family, they were the center of his universe. He was an animal fanatic, especially when it came to dogs and cats. He was also a longtime member of Temple Beth Elohim and he served on the board as the treasurer for many years.
Mr. Simon is not only survived by his loving wife, but also his children; Irene Simon, Susan Sniffen (Wayne), David Simon (Dawn) and Linda Burdick (Joe) all of Brewster, NY, his 8 grandchildren; Rachael (Sheldon Schrack), Michael and Andrew Sniffen, Cody, Dylan and Logan Simon, Zachary and Taylor Mitchell Simon and his two great grandchildren; Dillon Weaver and Ryan Schrack and his brother Harold Simon (Jane) of Dix Hills, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Clara Simon.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday January 24, 2019 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Milltown Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday January 23, 2019 from 4-8pm.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Maurice may be made to the Putnam Humane Society, Carmel, NY
