Bob married the love of his life, Marjorie Jean Edmondson on January 22, 1944 at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. Marjorie died on March 3, 2007. They were blessed to be married for 63 wonderful years.

A lifelong member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, he was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 672 in Brewster. Bob enjoyed travels with his family and in later years those taken with his wife Marjorie. He enjoyed occasional luncheons with his railroad friends, as well. Bob was very proud to have been responsible for the placement of American Flags through the years at many local cemeteries – a responsibility that came to be known as ‘The Bob Palmer Project’.
