Luke N. Cavalluzzi, of Carmel, NY, died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday June 9, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 74 years old.
Born on August 5, 1943 in Yonkers, NY, son of the late Thomas and Jean (Patrello) Cavalluzzi. He graduated in 1961 from Edison High School.
On December 28, 1958 at the age of 15 he met the love of his life, Jackie, roller blading. On May 1, 1965 he married Jacqueline Policastro in Hartsdale, NY. In 1971 they moved to Carmel where they raised 3 children together.
Mr. Cavalluzzi was a union laborer with the Local Union 235 out of Elmsford, NY. His greatest joy in life was his family, his three granddaughters meant the world to him. He also enjoyed traveling the world with Jackie. To Luke, Disney World was one of the most magical places on the Earth.
Luke is not only survived by his loving wife of 53 years but also his children; Thomas Cavalluzzi (Jennifer) of Carmel, NY, Barbara Tangredi (Steven) of Patterson, NY and Jackie Malheiro (Anthony) of Carmel, NY and his 3 granddaughters; Alyssa, Alexa and Jenna.
A funeral service will be held at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at 10am. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call the funeral home on Monday June 11th from 4pm-8pm.
