Life Story for Catherine Theresa Sutton

Catherine Theresa Sutton, of Patterson, NY formerly of Danbury, CT, died peacefully at her son’s home on Saturday February 3, 2018. She was 83 years old.

Born on February 23, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, NY she was the daughter of Thomas and Bridgett (McNulty) Scanlon. Catherine was a Mt. Vernon High School graduate.

On December 13, 1957 she married the love of her life Anthony ‘Buster’ Sutton. Anthony predeceased his wife in 2003. Catherine was an active member of the New Fairfield Senior Center. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Catherine was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Her cats and dogs were an important part of her life.

Mrs. Sutton is survived by her three sons; William (Patricia) Sutton of Patterson, NY, Joseph (Jessica) Sutton of Monroe, CT and David (Martha) Sutton of Danbury, CT, her 5 grandchildren and her brother Thomas Scanlon.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday February 9, 2018 at 11:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, Patterson. Interment will follow Milltown Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster on Thursday February 8, 2018 from 4pm-8pm. www.Beecherfuneralhome.com
