Life Story for Terry A. Knox


Terry A. Knox, a lifelong resident of Brewster, NY, died with her family by her side on May 23, 2017 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 74 years old.
Terry was born on December 4, 1942 in Hartford, CT, she was lovingly raised by her parents Josephine (VanVlack) Savoy and Edward Savoy. Terry was a 1960 Brewster High School graduate and continued her education at cosmetology school in White Plains, NY which sparked her career. Terry was the owner and a beautician of Terri’s Images in Somers, NY, for 35 years before retiring in 2014. It was not a job to her as she enjoyed the company of all her customers who were more like family.
Terry lived a wonderful life filled with laughter and good times. She made the best of everything and loved life. In her younger years she was a beauty queen named in the Town of Southeast and showed her love of music through singing with bands at various venues. Terry was also an avid Yankee fan. Her greatest passion in life was her family and friends, especially her 6 grandchildren.
Terry is survived by her two children; Lisa A. Just and her husband Nick of Danbury, CT, and Joseph Colla and his wife Suzanne of Ballston Lake, NY, her Brother Raymond Knox and his wife Ellen Jane of Brewster, NY, her very best friend Linda Thela of Danbury, CT and her husband Gary, her many nieces, nephews, cousins and her six grandchildren; Darren, Bobby, Kayla, Vanessa, Andrew and Aimee. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Thomas Knox.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
