Obituary for Veronica D. "Ronnie" Koller (Perreira)

Veronica D. ‘Ronnie’ Koller, of Patterson, NY, died Thursday, March, 16, 2017. She was 92 years old.

Ronnie was born July 23, 1924 in Chicago, IL to John and Veronica (DeFreitas) Perreira. She graduated from schools in the Bronx.

On April 21, 1946 she married the love of her life John L. Koller at St. Mary’s Church in the Bronx. Mr. Koller died on August 30, 1991.

Ronnie was a cook and meal provider for the Brewster Central School District working at the Henry H. Wells Middle School in Brewster, NY for 20 years before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Putnam Lake VFW post # 9257 where Ronnie started the annual Penny Social. In 2016 the VFW celebrated its 50th penny social. Ronnie was also a member of the Patterson and Putnam Lake seniors, as well as, the New Fairfield seniors. She also enjoyed playing cards and trips to the casinos. Her greatest joy in life was her family, they meant the world to her.

Ronnie is survived by her 2 daughters, Laura Ragaglia (Tony) of Beacon, NY and Edna Panigrosso (Vinny) of Patterson, NY; a sister, Helen Fetonti of Bronxville, NY; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son John Joseph Koller on April 29, 2007.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 414 Haviland Drive, Patterson. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster, NY. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Monday from 4pm-8pm.
